Men’s Golf Tied for First After Two Rounds of Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. – Ben Carr fired a career-low 64, and four Eagles posted even-par 72s as the Georgia Southern men's golf team climbed into a tie for first place following the second round of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at Blackthorn Golf Club Monday.
The Eagles (-17) are tied with Missouri and tournament host ETSU. Cincinnati (-15) is in fourth and Furman (-8) is in fifth.
Carr moved up 49 spots into a tie for ninth with the lowest round of the tournament. Wilson Andress, Hogan Ingram, Brantley Baker and Mason Williams all shot 72 today. Andress is tied for 11th, Ingram is tied for 16th and Baker is tied for 20th.
Sparked by an eagle on the 567-yard, Par-5 4th hole, Carr added birdies on 2, 5 and 9 to shoot 4-under on the front. The fifth-year senior played the back 9 clean with birdies on 10, 14, 15 and 17.
Georgia Southern leads the field in par-5 scoring at 21-under-par, and GS is tied for the lead with 116 pars as a team.
