STATESBORO – Fresh off a win at the GMC Brickyard last Friday, the Georgia Southern cross country team is set to compete in the Florida State Open at 8:10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at Apalachee Regional Park.

Isabel Ptacek and Isabel Clayton ran personal bests in the season opener, and four Eagles finished in the top-6. Ptacek took third, and a trio of freshmen made their collegiate debuts and placed 4, 5 and 6 for the Eagles. Ella Zierdt finished fourth , Katie Ranck took fifth and Reese Connelly placed sixth.

Following Friday's race, the Eagles have a week off before competing in the Asics Invitational Oct. 2.
