
Sun Belt Announces 2021-22 Women's Basketball Slate

Eagles' league season begins on Dec. 30, 16 Sun Belt contests this season
STATESBORO - The Sun Belt Conference announced the 2021-22 women's basketball league slate on Wednesday, returning to a balanced schedule in which all 12 teams will face each other at least once during the regular season. The schedule includes 16 Sun Belt games, beginning on December 30.
Georgia Southern will open up league play at Hanner Fieldhouse by taking on Arkansas State on December 30. The Eagles will then have to travel to Little Rock on New Year's Day to take on the Trojans in Little Rock, Ark., to finish up the first weekend of Sun Belt action.
The Eagles then travel to Coastal Carolina on January 6 and Appalachian State on January 8, before returning home to take on Texas State on January 13 and UT Arlington on January 15. The first of two against in-state rival Georgia State will be in Atlanta on January 22.
Georgia Southern then plays five straight Sun Belt games at home, beginning on January 27 against Troy. South Alabama comes to Hanner on January 29, then Georgia State makes the return trip on February 5. The Eagles' home Sun Belt slate concludes by hosting Appalachian State on February 10 and Coastal Carolina on February 12.
The Eagles finish up the 2021-22 regular season with four straight Sun Belt games on the road. Georgia Southern visits South Alabama on February 17 and Troy on February 19, then heads to UL Monroe on February 24 and Louisiana on February 26.
The 2022 Sun Belt Conference Tournament will take place on March 2-7 in Pensacola, Fla.
Georgia Southern will release its non-conference schedule as soon as it is available.
