Alan Beck Promoted to Associate Head Coach

STATESBORO, Ga. – On Friday morning, Georgia Southern head baseball coach Rodney Hennon announced the promotion of Alan Beck to Associate Head Coach for Hitting. Beck enters his seventh season with the Eagles, working primarily with the hitters and outfielders.

"Alan has made a significant impact on our program since joining our staff in 2015," Head coach Rodney Hennon said. "His leadership has been an integral part of the development and success of our players both on and off the field. Alan is a person of high character with relentless work ethic who embraces Georgia Southern and the Statesboro community. He is very deserving to be named our Associate Head Coach."

At the end of the 2021 season, Georgia Southern baseball had three players batting over .335, and the team accumulated 55 home runs as well. Eagle batters collected 105 doubles under Beck's guidance, driving in 295 RBIs. The Eagles scored 331 runs in the 57 games they played, including a 23-run victory at Georgia State in April.

In 2021, Beck helped Mason McWhorter become the first Georgia Southern baseball player to win Sun Belt Player of the Year and guided the Eagles to a number two seed in the Eastern Division. The Eagles would go on to score 26 runs in their four games at the conference tournament, before falling to South Alabama in the championship game.

In 2017, Beck had two Eagle hitters selected in the MLB Draft with Jordan Wren and Logan Baldwin getting the call. The two Eagle hitters were a part of the largest Eagle draft class since 1996, the largest in program history with five.
