STATESBORO, Ga. – South Alabama scored six runs in the top of the sixth inning to defeat the Eagles 12-5 on Friday. The Jaguars improved to 25-13 and 12-4 in conference play, while GS falls to 25-16 and 9-7 in conference play.Â

Hayden Harris falls to 1-2 on the season, allowing six runs on four hits in the sixth inning for the Jags. Miles Smith improved to 4-0 on the year, working six innings allowing no runs on five hits.Â

Georgia Southern would take the lead in the bottom of the first, scoring a pair off the
Noah Ledford single up the middle. South Alabama would regain the lead on a three-run home run. The Eagles would tie up the ballgame in the third, as
Christian Avant doubled down the line in left to score

Matt Anderson drove in a run on a sacrifice fly to right field. In the fifth South Alabama would regain the lead on a pair of runs to go up 5-4. The Jaguars would go on to score the next seven runs to down the Eagles on Friday.
