Men’s Golf is Two Back after 36 holes of the Sun Belt Championship

Four Eagles are in the top-25.

EL DORADO, Ark. – Ben Carr paced the Georgia Southern men's golf team with a 75 Monday at Mystic Creek Golf Club, and the Eagles are in second place after 36 holes of the Sun Belt Championship.

Georgia Southern (+25) is two shots behind Little Rock (+23) and six ahead of third-place UTA (+31). Appalachian State (+32) and ULM are tied for fourth. The top four teams advance to match play Wednesday.

The course played extremely difficult today as no individual managed to shoot par and no team shot below 300. Only the 338-yard, par-4 11th hole is playing under par for the tournament. Georgia Southern continues to lead the field in par-4 scoring and is tied for the lead with 102 pars.

Carr (+3) is tied for second on the individual leaderboard with two others, and the trio is two shots behind leader Logan Pate (+1) of Little Rock. Carr made 13 pars, including four in a row to close the round, and a birdie for his 75.

Jake Maples made par on his first five holes of the day and finished the round with a birdie on 18 to shoot 77. Brett Barron made birdies at 11 and 15 to shoot 1-under on the back nine on his way to a 78. Luke Dasher birdied the first hole and made par on five of his final six holes to card a 78.

Barron is tied for 11th, Dasher is tied for 19th, Mason Williams is tied for 24th and Maples is tied for 29th.
