STATESBORO – Kamari Brown tallied 16 points, four rebounds and three assists, and Georgia Southern held Covenant scoreless for a seven-minute stretch in the second half to down the Scots 85-51 in men's basketball action Saturday afternoon in Hanner Fieldhouse.

Brown made 6 of 11 from the floor and 4 of 6 from long distance, and
Elijah McCadden scored 16 on 6 of 9 shooting.
Cam Bryant totaled 11 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals, and
Andrei Savrasov finished with 11 points, nine rebounds and three steals.

After leading 40-27 at halftime, the Eagles (7-4) put the game away with a 17-0 run late in the contest.
Grant Weatherford scored six of his nine points during the stretch, and a dunk by Brown made the score 76-41 with 4:07 remaining. The Eagles held the Scots without a point for a 7:26 stretch, forcing Covenant to miss 10 straight shots.
Six different Eagles scored in a 12-0 Georgia Southern run, and a layup by
Gedi Juozapaitis opened up a 38-18 cushion with 3:54 to play in the first half. Georgia Southern forced four turnovers, including two shot-clock violations, and held Covenant to 0 for 4 from the field during the spurt.
