ATLANTA – Michael Devoe tallied 26 points, five rebounds and five assists, and Georgia Tech held Georgia Southern to 29 percent shooting in the second half to grind out a 61-59 men's basketball win over the Eagles Friday afternoon in McCamish Pavilion.
The Eagles had the ball with 7.8 seconds left following a Devoe free throw, but
Elijah McCadden's 3-point try from the top of the key caromed off the rim as the buzzer sounded.

McCadden finished the contest with 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists, and
Cam Bryant made four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points, seven boards, three assists and two steals.
Kamari Brown collected 13 points, six rebounds and two steals.
Key Moments
After a pair of Devoe free throws gave Georgia Tech a 59-52 lead with 3:20 remaining, the Eagles (4-2) outscored the Yellow Jackets 7-1, and Bryant's fourth triple of the game made the margin 60-59 with 58.6 seconds left. Southern forced a turnover on Tech's next trip down the floor, but McCadden's jumper was short at the other end. The Eagles were forced to foul Devoe, who made 1 of 2 to set up game's final play.
Bryant nailed three consecutive 3-pointers in a 13-2 run for the Eagles, and Brown's jumper gave Georgia Southern a 24-12 lead with 7:06 left in the first half. The Eagles held the Yellow Jackets to 0 for 4 from the floor and forced a turnover during the stretch and went into the locker room with a 39-27 lead.
Georgia Tech (5-1) made its first four shots of the second half and held the Eagles without a field goal for the first 5:59 of the period in a 16-3 run that put the home team back on top 43-42. The score was tied 50-50 when Devoe nailed a 3-pointer that sparked a 9-2 spurt to give the Yellow Jackets some breathing room.
