The Eagles open a four-match homestand next Friday in Hanner Fieldhouse.

MOBILE, Ala. – Carissa Bradford collected 19 kills and a block to lead South Alabama to a 3-1 (25-16, 25-15, 20-25, 25-21) Sun Belt volleyball win over Georgia Southern Saturday night in Jag Gym.

Eagles of the Match
Hannah McGlockton led the Eagles with 13 kills, and Baylor Bumford posted 10 kills and four blocks. Jillian Gray recorded seven kills, eight digs, two aces and two blocks, and Ashlyn Lovett had 18 digs.

Key Moments
The Eagles (12-6, 5-3) trailed 2-1 in the match and tied the score 19-19 in the fourth on a Gray kill. Bradford put down a pair of kills, and Kailey Keeble served an ace as the Jags (14-6, 7-1) scored the next five points. McGlockton picked up a kill, and the Jags hit a ball out of bounds before Bradford found space in the middle of the court for her 19th kill to end the contest.

Trailing 2-0 in the match, Gray served consecutive aces and registered a kill in a 7-2 Eagle run to open the third set. South Alabama cut the margin to 21-19 on a Bradford kill, but Bumford put down two balls to help set up set point before Wilson and Gray combined for a block to give the Eagles the 25-20 win.

Stat of the Match
It was the 10th straight home win for the Jags. South Alabama finished with an 11-3 edge in aces.

Quotables from Coach Chad Willis
"First contact was the story of the match—we really struggled to settle into a rhythm early and got pressured in serve receive. We showed some moments and a lot of fight in the 3rd and 4th sets but couldn't find enough consistency offensively. It was a tough road trip, but things we can learn from and build on, especially finishing off the second half of league play with six of eight matches in Hanner."

Next up
The Eagles open a four-match homestand next Friday, Oct. 22, when they welcome Little Rock into Hanner Fieldhouse for a 6 p.m. match on ESPN+.
