STATESBORO - Georgia Southern had a pair of student-athletes mentioned in the College Soccer News' Men's Team of the Week, released yesterday by the website.
Senior
Aldair Cortes was named as a defender on the Team of the Week for his pair of assists in Georgia Southern's 3-2 victory over UAB on Saturday, helping the Eagles pick up their first win of the 2020 season. The Cairo, Ga., native picked up his first points of the season and is the Eagles' career active leader in assists with 11. This is the first time he has earned a Team of the Week honor from the website.
Junior
Adam Davie, meanwhile, earned honorable mention Team of the Week honors for his goal and assist in the Eagles' victory over the Blazers. Davie had a hand in the Eagles' first two goals against the Blazers, and the preseason All-Sun Belt honoree now has 14 career goals in his 34 matches at Georgia Southern.
