Box Score STATESBORO - Evansville took advantage of several defensive miscues by the Georgia Southern softball team to rally for a 14-8 victory over the Eagles Friday night on the first day of the Eagle Round Robin.
Georgia Southern took an early 2-0 lead and then plated three more in the second inning to take a 5-3 lead, but the Aces scored seven runs over the next three innings to pull away. GS tried to get back into it with a pair of runs in the sixth inning, but UE put the game away with four runs in the final stanza.

Aaliyah Garcia (L, 4-1) was saddled with her first collegiate loss. The freshman gave up seven runs (three earned) on five hits with a walk and four strikeouts in three innings.
Ashleigh Morton tossed four innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits with two strikeouts.
Kyleigh Richardson picked up the final three outs for the Eagles, striking out two.
At the plate, Wilson and Gunter led the way with two hits apiece while Freeman, Conklin, Gunter and Shirley both had one.
Up Next: The Eagles (8-3) will return to the field on Saturday, taking on Monmouth at 5:30 p.m.
