
Eagles Host College of Charleston Sunday at 1 p.m.

STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern women's tennis team continues its five-match home slate Sunday as they host the College of Charleston at the Wallis Tennis Center.
The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. with doubles play.
Last time out:
The Eagles (4-1) improved to defeated Kennesaw State 4-3 and USC-Upstate 7-0 on their home court this past weekend despite battling a rain delay.
In the matches, freshman Nadja Meier went a perfect 4-0 in two singles and two doubles contests. This past Wednesday, the Potsdam, Germany, native was voted the first ever Sun Belt Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week in Georgia Southern history.
College of Charleston history:
The Cougars are historically one of the Eagles' toughest opponents with CoC leading the series 32-2 including the past 18 straight. Both wins for the Eagles came in the 1979 season.
About CoC:
The Cougars (4-3) have had an up-and-down season so far in 2020 with wins over Gardner-Webb, NC A&T, SC State and Charleston Southern. The team's losses came at the hands of No. 24 Wake Forest, Clemson and Charlotte.
What Eagles head coach Sean McCaffrey said:
"Our team has been putting in a good amount of effort in training as of late. We are beginning to hit our stride in practice and now it's just a matter of proving ourselves on court. We seek to improve every week."
