STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern baseball rallied from a four-run deficit in the seventh to defeat Ball State 7-4 in game one of the double header. The Eagles improved to 2-0 on the season, while Ball State falls to 0-2. Freshman
Jake Martin made his collegiate debut in the seventh, throwing one pitch and getting the first batter he faced.
Martin improved to 1-0 on the season, as the Eagles rallied from three runs down in the seventh inning.
Christian Avant scored two runs and went 2-for-5 on the day, while
Blake Evans drove in two RBIs in the seventh to take the lead.
Game two of the double header is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

TOP 5th | GS 0 – BSU 1 | Aaron Simpson broke the scoreless game in the fifth with a RBI single to right field.
TOP 6th | GS 0 – BSU 4 | Ball State extended their lead in the sixth inning with a two-RBI single through the left side and a sacrifice fly to left.
