Madison Brown Named Sun Belt Setter of the Week

The junior earns the honor for the second time this season.
NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern setter Madison Brown has been named the Sun Belt Conference Setter of the Week, the league announced today. It's the second time this season the junior has earned the honor.
Brown averaged 11.56 assists, two digs and 0.44 blocks a set in a 2-1 week for the Eagles. Her best match came in the series finale Friday when she posted 41 assists, seven digs and an ace in Georgia Southern's 3-0 win over Troy. She collected 36 assists, seven digs and an ace in the Eagles' 3-0 victory over the Trojans Thursday evening.
Brown was named Sun Belt Setter of the Week Oct. 6. She has moved into seventh on the Georgia Southern career assist list with 2,303, which is 223 shy of Susan Winkelman (2002-04) in sixth.
Georgia Southern is the fifth seed in the East Division and will compete in Pool B with Troy, the second seed in the East Division, and UTA, the third seed in the West Division in this week's Sun Belt Championship in Foley, Alabama.
The Eagles play Troy in their first match Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. ET and take on UTA Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET. Teams play the two opponents in their pool, and the winner of the pool advances to the single-elimination semifinals. The winner of Pool B will play the winner of Pool C, which features Texas State, South Alabama and ULM.
