Eagles Drop Final Non-Conference Match of the Season

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Georgia Southern women's soccer fell to The Citadel 3-0 on Friday afternoon in Charleston, South Carolina. The Citadel improve to 4-2-2 on the season in their final match of the Fall, as the Eagles fall to 2-7-0 on the season. 

The Bulldogs opened up the scoring early in the first half, as Leanne Bryant scored in the 21st minute to take the lead. The two sides went to halftime and about ten minutes into the second half, Sara Story collided with a crashing defender which gave The Citadel a penalty kick. Maria Contreras capitalized on the attempt in the 54th minute.

Logan Dix added to the scoring in the 69th minute to push the Bulldogs lead to 3-0 late in the match. Georgia Southern will be back in action with conference play against Georgia State, Sunday at 7 p.m. from Eagle Field.
