Quickly: The Eagles will take on their first Sun Belt opponent of the year Friday evening.  

Georgia Southern and Coastal Carolina have played each other 10 times. The Chanticleers lead the series 3-5-2. The Eagles have lost the past two meetings of the teams. 
Last year, the Eagles lost 0-2 to the Chanticleers at home despite out shooting their opponent. The Chanticleers earned the third seed in the 2018 Sun Belt Championship tournament. The Chanticleers lost in the quarterfinals against Georgia State finishing third in the 2018 Sun Belt Women's Soccer standings.

In 2017, the two teams met twice. The second time was in the semifinals of the Sun Belt Championship Tournament. The Chanticleers defeated the Eagles 4-1. The last time Georgia Southern beat Coastal Carolina was the regular season meeting between the teams in 2017. The Eagles won 1-0 in Conway, S.C.

This year Coastal Carolina is 2-4-1. Both the Chanticleers and the Eagles have come out on top against Jacksonville (Eagles: 2-1, Chanticleers: 3-1) and Gardner-Webb (Eagles: 4-3 1OT, Chanticleers: 3-1) this season. The Chanticleers' Sunny Sigursinsdottir was named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season.

Quickly: The Eagles will host Little Rock for the first conference game in Statesboro of the season.

Georgia Southern and Little Rock have played each other six times. In 2018, Georgia Southern lost 0-1 in Little Rock. 

Little Rock went on to win the 2018 Sun Belt Women's Soccer Championship. They beat Texas State in the championship game in a penalty shootout. The win earned the team a spot in the NCAA tournament where their first and only matchup was the Arkansas Razorbacks.

The Trojans were given several preseason honors by the Sun Belt Conference's head coaches. They were picked to finish third in the conference and had three players on the preseason all-Sun Belt team – forward Doro Greulich, midfielder Fanny Einardotir, and defender, Bergr Asgeirsdottir.

This season, the Trojans are 3-4-2.
