• For the first time since 2010, the Georgia Southern men's golf team is headed to the NCAA Championship Finals. The Eagles took fourth place at the Stanford Regional with a 6-under-par three-day total to advance as the No. 10 seed.

• GS is one of 30 teams to advance to the Finals from six regionals. The Eagles will play three rounds May 24-26 at The Blessings Club in Fayetteville, Ark., and the top-15 teams and low nine individuals not on those teams advance to a fourth round on Tuesday, May 27. The individual medalist will be determined after Monday's fourth round, and the top eight teams advance to match play Tuesday.

• This will be Georgia Southern's 15th appearance in the NCAA finals. The NCAA went to a regional format in 1989, and this is the fifth time in program history the Eagles have advanced out of regionals.

• The Eagles last advanced to the Finals in 2010 after tying for fourth in the regional at the Capital City Club Crabapple Course. GS went on to play at The Honors Course and finished 30th.

• Senior Steven Fisk and junior Jake Maples led the way at Stanford with Fisk tying for sixth and Maples placing ninth. Freshman Colin Bowles tied for 15th. The Eagles' fourth-place finish is the program's best in regional competition.

• For the week, the Eagles didn't have a player shoot over 72, the only team in the regional to make that claim, and the 834 team total is the lowest for the program in its 15 regional appearances. The Eagles bested No. 24 NC State, No. 36 USF, No. 38 Kansas and No. 47 Virginia among others to earn the trip to NCAAs.

• Georgia Southern received an at-large bid to the NCAA Regionals after winning the stroke play portion of the Sun Belt Championship April 23 at Raven Golf Club in Destin, Fla.

• Fisk earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships by winning the conference's individual medalist honors in a playoff. Fisk became the ninth Eagle to win a conference individual title and the third in the Eagles' five-year stint in the Sun Belt. He has been named one of 10 finalists nationally for the Haskins Award, the Heisman of collegiate golf, and a semifinalist for the the Jack Nicklaus Player of the Year Award.

• This is the Eagles' third appearance in the NCAA Championships under head coach Carter Collins and the eighth in Collins' 12 seasons on the coaching staff. It's the Eagles' second NCAA Finals appearance with Collins on the coaching staff and his first as head coach.

• This is Georgia Southern's eighth NCAA Championship appearance in the last 11 seasons. The Eagles tied for 11th at the Austin Regional at UT Golf Club in their last appearance in 2017. Georgia Southern won the SoCon Tournament in 2011 and 2014, the Sun Belt Tournament in 2015 and received at-large bids in 2009, 2010, 2013, 2017 and 2019. Georgia Southern made six consecutive NCAA Championship appearances from 2001-06.

• Georgia Southern will use the same lineup that the Eagles used in the Sun Belt Championship and the Stanford Regional - Brett Barron, Ben Carr, Bowles, Fisk and Maples. Wilson Andress will serve as the ready 6 sub.

• Prior to this season, Barron and Fisk are the only players on the Eagle roster who have competed in the NCAAs. Barron carded a 229 at the Austin Regional in 2017 and Fisk shot a 212 and tied for 15th. Fisk played in the Kissimmee Regional as an indy last season and carded a 222.

• Georgia Southern shot a school record 263 (21-under) in the final round of stroke play at the Sun Belt Championship as the Eagles made 22 birdies on the back nine. Barron shot a team-best 65, while Fisk, Carr and Maples shot 66. The Eagles had to throw out a career low round of 67 by Bowles.

• The total topped a 266 the Eagles shot in the fall in the first round of the Fighting Irish Classic and is one of seven rounds GS has posted this season that rank in the top-10 in school history.

• Fisk will be making his 46th career start for the Eagles, while Carr makes his 12th start in the lineup. Barron makes his 27th career start and has been in the lineup in the last six tournaments, and  Maples makes his sixth start this spring. Bowles, a mid-year transfer from Ohio State, will play in the lineup for the third time.

• All six Eagles traveling to the regional are from Georgia. Two have won Georgia State Amateur titles - Bowles won in 2016 becoming the youngest since Bobby Jones - and Barron won in 2018.

• GS is paired with SMU and Ohio State for the first two rounds and will tee off in the morning wave Friday and the afternoon wave Saturday. The Eagles tee off the 10th hole Friday at 9:40 a.m. ET and go off the 1st hole Saturday at 3 p.m. ET. Third round pairings and tee times for Sunday will be determined by results.
