STATESBORO - Georgia Southern senior Hannah Farrell has been named the NFCA All-South Region second team third baseman, announced today by the organization.

Farrell earns second-team honors after being named to the third team in 2018. She is just the third Georgia Southern softball player in school history to earn multiple NFCA All-Region honors, joining Breanna Streetman (2009-10) and Sarah Purvis (2012-14). 

The Jesup, Ga., native hit .401 with 14 doubles, five home runs and 31 RBI in 2019. She slugged .586 and drew 21 walks for a .473 on-base percentage. Farrell ranked third in the Sun Belt Conference in batting average and sixth in on-base percentage. She is only the fourth Georgia Southern softball player to hit .400 for a season, and the first since Nina Iduate hit .450 in 2010.

"We are extremely proud of what Hannah was able to accomplish on the field this season," Georgia Southern Head Coach Kim Dean said. "Her junior season was tremendous, but to be able to come back and play at an even higher level as a senior is a testament to her dedication and skill. It's an outstanding honor to cap off a great Eagle career."
