STATESBORO, Ga - Coastal Carolina defeated the Georgia Southern women's tennis team 4-2 on Sunday morning in Conway, South Carolina at the Stevens Tennis Complex in the last match of the Eagles weekend Carolinas trip.

Luisa Hrda came out strong and took her match over Alicja Zduniak, 6-2, 6-3, on court five in straight sets. Hrda earned one of the two points of the match with her win over Zduniak. Bringing home the second point of the match for the Eagles was Elizabeth Goines. Goines defeated Alexa Tiefel, 6-3, 6-3, on court six in straight sets. 

The Chanticleers earned the doubles point early on and took a 1-0 lead over the Eagles before heading into singles. The Chanticleers won the other four singles matches to take the win over the Eagles in Conway. 

WHAT HEAD COACH SEAN MCCAFFREY SAID
"This team is continuing to show their fight in matches and a great deal of growth in their own development. The Sun Belt is a tough conference and we have showed everyone how gritty and tough we can be. Even with the loss I am very motivated about the future of the program. We will continue to work on being more consistent in every facet of our games, and a big emphasis on how to disrupt the other teams momentum. I am excited to finish out the regular season strong as we face South Alabama and Troy next week...and hopefully earn a spot in the conference tournament. If we get in, I know we will be ready for the fight."
