Fisk 10th in U.S. Arnold Palmer Cup Ranking

The top-6 earn automatic spots on the U.S. Team.

NORMAN, Okla. – Georgia Southern's Steven Fisk is 10th in the latest Arnold Palmer Cup Ranking, released today.

The top six golfers from the final ranking in the spring from both the United States and International men and women - 12 total golfers - will be among the 24 individuals selected to compete in the Arnold Palmer Cup. Longtime Arnold Palmer partner Rolex is continuing its 50 year relationship through its support of the matches which will be hosted by The Alotian Club June 7-9.

This is the penultimate Arnold Palmer Cup Ranking for the 2019, and the teams will be unveiled live on Golf Channel's Golf Central on Wednesday, March 6, at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard. That gives Fisk one more event, the Colleton River Collegiate in Bluffton, S.C., March 4-5, to improve his ranking.

Fisk capped the fall season by winning medalist or co-medalist honors in four consecutive tournaments. It's a streak not seen in NCAA Division I golf since NC State's Matt Hill in 2009 and the first time any Eagle has won four straight tournaments.

The senior shot a combined 48-under-par in the 12 rounds, was under par in all 12 and shot in the 60s in his last eight. He shared medalist honors at the Shoal Creek Invitational and won the next three events outright, posting a lower score in each tournament. He now has seven career wins, one shy of the Georgia Southern record, set by Jodie Mudd from 1979-82.

Fisk tied for 12th in his only event of the spring, the SunTrust Gator Invitational in a field that featured seven top-50 teams and 12 top-100 individuals. He has placed in the top-20 in all six events this season.

Using Golfstat's NCAA Player Ranking as a base, the Arnold Palmer Cup Ranking awards bonus points for wins and high finishes and a penalty for poor finishes. The ranking also contains a strength of schedule component.

The remaining six men's and women's spots for the United States will consist of five committee selections, including at least one non-Division I golfer, and a coaches pick.
