Georgia Southern took second place in 2023, thanks in part to Mason Williams, who shot an 11-under-par 199 and tied for first place. Southern won the even tin the 1979-80 season and Jodie Mudd won the individual title in 1982.
The Eagles kicked off the spring with a pair of match play events and by hosting their annual individual tournament, the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate, at Georgia Southern University Golf Course on Feb. 7 and 8. Morgan Blythe placed second and Parker Claxton tied for third.
Following the event, Georgia Southern will have three weeks off before competing in the Johnnie-O Collegiate March 9-10 in St. Simons, Georgia.
