
GS Swimming and Diving Loses to Campbell and FGCU

Georgia Southern Swimming and Diving lost 97-139 to Campbell and 70-172 to Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday.
Melissa Cox had the only first-place finish of the meet for the Eagles in the 50 Free. She finished in 23.99 seconds.
Isabelle Bray finished second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.72 and fourth in the 100 Breast in1:09.48.
Emily Jones finished third in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:51.04 with Klaudia Holt coming in right behind in fourth with a time of 11:00.97.
Holland Danskin finished second in the 100 Free in a time of 53.58.
Georgia Southern's 400 Free relay team consisting of Cox, Danskin, Maddie Cordle and Bettie Logan came in fourth in 3:39.63.
Gretchen Mossburg led the Eagles in both diving events of the meet. A score of 240.75 landing her in third place in the 1 meter dive. Katie Knight and Abby Camarda finished fourth and fifth, respectively. In the 3 meter dive, Mossburg again finished third with a score of 247.80. Abby Camarda and Katie Knight followed in fourth and fifth.
"It was great to race at home this weekend," Head Coach Amanda Caldwell said. "Our women made either some good technical adjustments or were stronger in front half of their races compared to last week. We still have lots of room to grow before the end of the season, and I believe our team is up for that challenge. "
The next meet of the season will be at North Florida on October 19.
