The Georgia Southern women's basketball team is in the midst of preseason practice, and during the month of October, we're going to take a closer look at our six seniors with our 5 Questions segment.
Our next senior is shooting guard Alexis Brown. The Madison, Ga., native was a second-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection as a junior as she ranked second in the league in scoring, averaging 17.4 points per game. She goes into her senior season needing just 67 points to become 24th 1,000 point scorer in Georgia Southern women's basketball history.
1. Why did you choose Georgia Southern University to play collegiate basketball?
"I loved the campus, and saw how the fans really supported the basketball team. Georgia Southern was recruiting me before my brother. I had other schools recruiting me like Jacksonville State, UNC Asheville, Texas State, ULM, Clemson, Georgia and a few more."

2. What is something that your teammates do that drives you nuts?
"When everybody is agreeing on one thing, but that one teammate is like 'nope, I don't want to do it.' That kills me! Everybody's agreeing on the same thing: where to eat, what to wear, what time we're going to be somewhere except for that one person."
3. Who is the one person in your life that you look up to the most?
"My brother Tookie. He works hard, and he fights through adversity. Even at Mississippi State, when their coaches got fired, he didn't let that bring him down. He came here to Southern and did what he was going to do there. He's a real hard worker."
4. What is your favorite home cooked meal?
"My mom cooks lemon-pepper grilled chicken, with fried rice, collard greens, mac and cheese and cornbread. That's my favorite."
5. What is a song, phrase or saying that you use to get through a particularly tough day?
"Every day at practice, I say 'It's bigger than me.' Because I don't play basketball for myself. I play for my family, my teammates, my coaches or the fans watching."
