STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern women's tennis team won three singles bracket titles and one doubles in its only home action of the fall schedule at the Georgia Southern Fall Shootout.
 
Sophomore Elizabeth Goines won the Eagles Singles bracket, senior Paula Boixader took the top spot in the True Blue Singles bracket and freshman Nadja Meier claimed the White Singles crown.  
 
Meier and Paula Hijos stood tall as the champions of the White Doubles bracket.

"We had a trio of ladies earn championship singles wins on the weekend.  Paula Boixader played in the top-flight singles (True Blue) draw.  In each round Paula faced some stiff competition, and Sunday was the toughest test with Hamilton from Jacksonville State.  Paula did a great job of staying calm under pressure and relied on her amazing forehand.  As a senior, she certainly showed a lot of poise on court as she was stretched to three very grueling sets, but she certainly showed her heart with the 7-5 win in the third."
"Nadja Meier has had a very nice fall so far.  Sunday, she had to work extra hard in her win over a tough Kennesaw State opponent.  After dropping the first set, Nadja dug down deep and found a way to battle to a three-set win. Nadja is a very mentally-tough player and these early fall matches have done a lot to help her become more acclimated to college tennis."
