STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern women's swimming and diving team claimed a dual meet win over visiting North Florida by a 184-93 score on Saturday afternoon at the RAC in Statesboro.
The dual meet was the final tune up for the GS swimmers prior to the 2019 CCSA Swimming & Diving Championships on February 20-23 in Lynchburg, Va. The Eagle divers will have a final competition before conference, hosting the Liberty University divers on Saturday, January 19th, at 11 a.m. at the RAC.
"I think we looked good today.," Georgia Southern Head Coach Amanda Caldwell said. "Our swimmers showed a lot of heart in some races, to come from behind for some out-touching. The team came in stronger off of our winter training camp, and showed a lot of positive energy throughout the meet."
Georgia Southern captured 14 of the 15 events completed on the afternoon. Leading the way for the Eagles were Bre Stuart and Courtney Schaefer, who each collected three event wins.
