Quickly: GS opens the 2018 season at the WVU Invitational. GS returns four starters, including Preseason All-Sun Belt middle Lauren Reichard, and 12 letterwinners to the 2018 team. Reichard enters the campaign with 353 career blocks, 109 away from the school record, held by Jennifer Charles. The Eagles are 0-2 all-time against West Virginia and will meet Wright State for the first time.

Quickly: The Eagles open the 2018 season by traveling to NCAA participant VCU for a showdown with the Rams on Friday afternoon. VCU is one of six NCAA participants the Eagles will face in 2018, and the meeting is the first in school history. GS returns 13 players from last season's 9-8-1 squad, including preseason All-Sun Belt Conference selections Javier Carbonell and Aldair Cortes. VCU went 12-7 in 2017 and is receiving votes in the preseason United Soccer Coaches national poll, but has to replace its top three goal scorers and top goalkeeper from a season ago.

ODU advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2017, finishing the season 13-6-2.
