Regular Season Rematch Kicks off Sun Belt Tournament

Eagles battle Troy to open up the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Tournament

STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern men's tennis team kicks off their tournament run Friday with a 3:00 p.m. match against Troy. The Eagles will be seeking revenge over the Trojans after falling 4-1 on March 27th. The Blue and White finished the season 13-12 and claimed the No. 5 seed in the conference tournament.

The Eagles enter play on Friday dropping the last two matches, but have had the last two weeks to rest and recover heading into the tournament. Trojans enter play with an 11-10 record and defeated New Orleans to wrap up the 2018 regular season. The Blue and White will be looking for revenge on Friday afternoon and will try to become the second team this year to defeat Troy in the tournament, after falling to the Trojans in the regular season.

WHAT HEAD COACH SANDER KONING SAID
"We play against a good Troy team. We lost a close one to them during the season and I believe it will help us playing them now. We know what to do and what not to do. It will come down to us being disciplined and keep giving ourselves opportunities."
