STATESBORO, Ga. – Returning to the courts for the first time since February 2
nd, the Eagles took to the courts to face off against No. 20 ranked Florida State Seminoles. The Noles came out fast winning the doubles point on courts one and two. The No. 50 team of Andrea Garcia and Petra Hule were tested early by
Arianne de Winter and
Lindsay Truscott leveling the score at 2-2 before they pulled away.
The Noles continued their momentum in singles play winning three of the six matches in straight sets. The Eagles battled on courts three, five, and six.
Emilia Bujan dropped the first set and was able to rebound winning the second set 6-3. In the third set tiebreaker Bujan pushed the set to nine all falling 11-9.
Charlotte van Diemen took on Gabrielle Goldin on court six. Van Diemen won the first set 6-2 to put the pressure on the Noles. Goldin continued to battle winning the second set 6-4 to put the match into a third set tiebreaker. Van Diemen and Goldin went back and forth in the tiebreaker before the Seminoles took the set and the match 7-0.
