Quickly: Georgia Southern plays its Sun Belt home opener against ULM in Hanner Fieldhouse Thursday night. The Eagles are 3-1 in Sun Belt home openers under coach Mark Byington and have won the last two. Byington is one win away from becoming the fifth coach to win 100 games at Georgia Southern. The Eagles are 6-3 against ULM since joining the Sun Belt. Five of those games have been decided by four points or less, and the Eagles have won three of them.

Quickly: The three NCAA rifle programs in the state of Georgia will duke it out for the first Georgia Collegiate Championship at the Shooting Sport Education Center Saturday morning. The Eagles took on nationally ranked North Georgia in the season opener, falling just short in Dahlonega. This will be the first match-up of the season against GMC.

GS swam against the Ospreys in a tri-meet to open up the 2017-18 season and defeated UNF, 138-124 ... The Eagles also placed ahead of the fellow CCSA school at the 2018 Conference Championships as GS placed fourth and UNF placed eighth.
