Quickly: After an eight-day hiatus, Georgia Southern returns to action by playing host to old Southern Conference rival ETSU Tuesday in Hanner Fieldhouse. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., and the game will air live on ESPN+. GS is 5-0 for the second straight season. The last time the Eagles started the campaign 5-0 in consecutive years was in the 1949-50 and 1950-51 seasons, and the Eagles have not started a season 6-0 since 1984-85. The Eagles have won nine of their last 10, dating back to last year. GS ranks second in the country in field goal percentage (.583) and fourth in scoring, averaging 97 points a game. The Eagles are ranked 17th in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll. ETSU, which is coming off a 25-9 season a year ago, returns just three players from last season's active roster. The Bucs have won 20-plus games and advanced to the SoCon Tournament title game in each of the last three seasons. ETSU's total of 76 wins over the last three years ranks seventh among mid-major programs (excluding the Power 5 Conferences, the Big East Conference and American Athletic Conference) and 23rd in the nation among all teams.
