Javier Carbonell Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Men's Soccer Honors

Senior will be eligible for possible Academic All-America honors, to be announced Dec. 6

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern men's soccer senior forward Javier Carbonell has been named to the CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District 4 Men's Soccer team, announced by the organization.

Carbonell carries a 3.74 GPA in interdisciplinary studies at Georgia Southern and will now be eligible for Academic All-American honors, which will be announced on December 6th. The Madrid, Spain, native led the Eagles offensively this season, tying a school record with 15 goals scored. He was named the Sun Belt Conference's Co-Player of the Year and Co-Offensive Player of the Year as well as earning Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week three times this season.

He is the fourth Georgia Southern men's soccer player to earn Academic All-District 4 honors over the last three seasons, joining Emil Laursen (2016 & 2017) and Adam Abdellaoui (2016). Click here to view the complete 2018 CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-Distict Men's Soccer teams.
