Javier Carbonell Earns Third Sun Belt Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Award

Senior notched a pair of goals in the Eagles' 3-1 win over FAU on Tuesday
STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern men's soccer senior forward Javier Carbonell has been named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week, announced by league officials today. It is the third Offensive Player of the Week award this season for Carbonell.
Carbonell earns the honor for scoring a pair of goals in Georgia Southern's 3-1 win over Florida Atlantic on Tuesday. The pair of goals stretched his goal-scoring streak to four straight matches and gives the Madrid, Spain, native 12 goals on the season. It is the most goals in a single season for a Sun Belt Conference player since the league began sponsoring the sport again in 2014.
The award is the third this season and fifth overall for Carbonell - he was previously named the league's Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 4 and Sept. 18 of this year, while also earning the honors twice last season.
