STATESBORO – Georgia Southern's
Steven Fisk has been named the Sun Belt Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, the league announced today.
It's the sixth time in his career and the second time this season that he has earned the honor.
Fisk won two tournaments, giving him four in a row to compete the fall. He is the first player in school history to win four-straight tournaments and now has seven for his career, which is one away from the school record, set by Jodie Mudd from 1979-82.
Now ranked 18th in the country by Golfstat, Fisk posted a scoring average of 66.17 and shot 69 or better in all six rounds he played. The senior has shot under par in his last 12 rounds and in the 60s in his last eight. He helped the Eagles to a team title at The AutoTrader Collegiate Classic Tuesday and a second-place outing at the Fighting Irish Classic Oct. 8.
Georgia Southern opens the spring campaign by hosting the GS Individual Collegiate Feb. 3-4.
