Eagles Continue Conference Play in Texas

Eagles head to Texas and Louisiana to continue the road trip

STATESBORO, Ga. – Following a 1-0 victory to open up conference play, the Eagles will head to the Lone Star State to face off against Texas State (3-4-1) (1-1-0) on Friday. The Blue and White currently sit third in the conference behind South Alabama and Louisiana.
Nicole Aussin enters play this weekend with two goals, after scoring the game winner against Coastal Carolina last Friday. Lauren Karinshak posted her fourth clean-sheet of the season and fifth of her career moving her into 22nd nationally in that category.
The Eagles will finish the weekend and month long road trip in Lafayette against the Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana (4-4-1) (1-0-1).

SCOUTING TEXAS STATE
Texas State enters play with a 3-4-1 record and a 1-1-0 record in the conference. The Bobcats split last weekend defeating Georgia State 3-1 and falling to Coastal Carolina 1-0. Rachel Grout leads the team with 3 goals and 3 assists. Grout posts a .625 shot on goal percentage and sits fourth in shots on goal. The Bobcat keepers have split time during the first eight games of the season, with Heather Martin starting five of the six starts. Kathryn Budde has also seen time in goal for the Bobcats posting a 1-2-0 record and making 13 saves.

SCOUTING LOUISIANA
The Ragin' Cajuns enter play with a 4-4-1 record and a 1-0-1 record in the conference. Louisiana defeated Arkansas State 2-1 last Friday in overtime and forced a tie against Little Rock Sunday afternoon. Haley Boroch leads the Cajuns in goals with three. Mackenzie Lee has started 6 of the 7 games in net posting a 4-1-1 record and two shutouts. Lee posts a .63 goals against average and has recorded 27 saves.

SERIES HISTORY
The Eagles and Bobcats are currently tied at 1-1-1, with the Blue and White winning the last meeting 1-0 on September 25, 2016.
The Ragin' Cajuns currently lead the series 1-2-0, with the Cajuns defeating the Eagles 2-0 on September 23, 2016.

The Eagles will head home to host South Alabama (4-4-1) (2-0-0) on Friday and Arkansas State (5-3-0) (1-1-0) on Sunday.
