STATESBORO, Ga. – Hurricane Irma created an eventful week off for the Eagles, as they prepare to travel to Conway, South Carolina, Friday evening to take on the Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina (5-2-0). The Chanticleers are coming off of a 9-1 loss at the hands of Georgia in Athens.
The Eagles enter Friday's match with a 2-3-1 record, after completing the Cougar Classic in Pullman, Washington.
Frida Brattum leads the team with 2 goals on 6 shots, while
Lauren Karinshak posted 340:57 minutes of scoreless soccer during non-conference play.
"We had a solid non-conference portion of our schedule," Head Coach
Brian Dunleavy said. "We played some really strong programs that have helped us improve as a team. We open up our Sun Belt schedule against one of the league favorites. Coastal Carolina is always a difficult opponent and we expect a very challenging game on Friday night. We are in a good place right now, we feel as though we are playing really good soccer, and we are up for the challenges ahead."
