The Eagles also take on Bethune-Cookman Saturday at 10 a.m. and Charlotte at 7 p.m. It's one of two home tournaments for Georgia Southern as the Eagles host the GATA Challenge with Savannah State and Kennesaw State next weekend.
The Eagles are 4-2 all-time against North Florida and 9-1 against Bethune-Cookman. Georgia Southern is 0-1 against Charlotte.
Georgia Southern opened the season by going 1-2 at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational last weekend. GS topped FIU 3-0 and lost 3-1 to IUPUI and 3-0 to FGCU.
Cathrine Murray has 754 kills and is 222 away from cracking the top-10 on the school's career chart. Megan Chevalier has 608 career kills.
This weekend's volleyball matches will be the first events on the refurbished Hanner Fieldhouse floor, which was refinished and re-painted this summer.
Former Eagle Jennifer Charles is an assistant coach at Charlotte. She played at GS from 2003-06 and still owns the school's career blocks record with 462.
Following the weekend, Georgia Southern hosts the GATAÂ Challenge Sept. 8-9. GS opens the tourney by playing Savannah State Friday, Sept. 8, at noon.
