STATESBORO, Ga. – Tomorrow afternoon, the Georgia Southern Track and Field team will head to Savannah for the second time this outdoor season. The Eagles will be competing in the Savannah State Mid-Week, before heading to Gainesville this weekend to compete in the Florida Relays. Events will begin around 3:00 p.m. and conclude at 7:00 p.m.

This will be the second time this season the Eagles have competed in Savannah, as they were entrants in the Savannah State Outdoor events on March 4
th. That afternoon the blue and white took home multiple top-10 and top-5 finishes.

LAST TIME OUT

Last time out the Eagles traveled to Jacksonville, Florida to compete in the UNF Spring Break Invitational. The Eagles finished the weekend with multiple top 10 finishes and also collected top five finishes as well.
Bailey Willett moved up to second in the Sun Belt Conference for the 800 meter event after posting a time of 2:12.12. Willett took second in the 800 meter event, while teammate
Ashton Lord placed eighth in the 5000 meters.
Desiree Blunt posted an eighth place finish in the 200 meter and was also a part of the 4 X 100 relay team which placed fifth. The team included Desiree,
Chasin Gladdis,
Beyunka Foster, and
Tatiyana Rayford.

In the field events
Eugenia Tan finished seventh in the Long Jump, while
Jamelia Owens (3
rd) and
Diamond Reese (9
th) both had top ten finishes in the Shot Put event.
Jamelia Owens (5
th) and
Alexis Gant (7
th) also placed top 10 in the Discus.
Kelsey Arnold placed eighth in the hammer throw to conclude the top ten events the blue and white collected this weekend.
