
Shin Named Sun Belt Women’s Golfer of the Week

The sophomore led the Eagles to the first team title in school history
NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference named Yeji Shin its Women's Golfer of the Week, the league announced today.
Shin led the Eagles to the first team title in school history by shooting 77-71-73=221 (+5) and placing fourth at the Spring Break Shootout presented by Srixon Golf earlier this week. It was her second top-5 this season and the third top-10 of her career.
The sophomore tied for the tournament lead in birdies with 10 and par-4 scoring (+2) and finished four strokes behind medalist Nichada Satasuk of Southern Miss. The Eagles made up 11 strokes on the final day, and their third-round 296 was the lowest of the day by eight shots.
The Eagles have one more tune-up before the Sun Belt Conference Championship. GS stays in state at the Hennsler Intercollegiate, hosted by Kennesaw State in Atlanta, March 27-28.
