Emil Laursen Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 Men's Soccer Honors

Junior defender earns first-team honors for a second straight season; advances to Academic All-America balloting
STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern junior defender Emil Laursen has been named to the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 Men's Soccer First Team, announced Thursday by the organization.
Laursen earns the honor for the second straight season. The junior from Silkeborg, Denmark, carries a perfect 4.0 GPA in Finance and has his Eagles into the semifinals of the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Championships with a 10-7 mark.
He also was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference second team in 2017, starting 14 matches and tallying one goal. He is the first two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree in Georgia Southern men's soccer history.
Laursen will now advance to the national ballot for possible CoSIDA Academic All-American honors, to be announced on December 7.
