Georgia Southern continues its five-match road swing with a pair of Sun Belt East Division contests at Coastal Carolina Friday and Appalachian State Sunday. It's the first of two meetings against each team this year as both schools will visit Hanner Fieldhouse in early November.

Georgia Southern is third in the Sun Belt East Division, and Coastal Carolina is second. Appalachian State is tied for fourth.

Coastal Carolina leads the all-time series against GS 11-2 and has won three in a row, all of which were last season. The Chanticleers won both regular-season contests and topped the Eagles in the Sun Belt Tournament on their way to winning the league title. The Eagles are 1-3 all-time at Coastal Carolina.

Appalachian State leads the all-time series over GS, 32-16, and has won five of the last six. Both matches last season were in the Holmes Center because of schedule movement due to Hurricane Matthew, and the teams split the series. The Eagles are 5-15 against the Mountaineers on the road.

Georgia Southern split two league matches last weekend, topping Troy 3-0 and falling 3-0 to South Alabama.

Senior Cathrine Murray has 873 kills and is 103 away from cracking the top-10 on the school's career chart. She also has 688 digs and 99 blocks.

Classmate Anna Wenger has 651 career kills, and Megan Chevalier has 693.

Georgia Southern had four matches canceled or postponed because of Hurricane Irma. The Eagles have rescheduled a pair of matches against Savannah State and will face the Tigers in Savannah Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. and in Hanner Fieldhosue Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. GS also rescheduled a match at North Florida for Oct. 16 at 6 p.m.

The Eagles close out their road swing at Savannah State Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m. before coming home to face Troy (Oct. 12) and South Alabama (Oct. 13) in Hanner Fieldhouse.
