STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern women's soccer team hosts two Sun Belt games this weekend against UL Lafayette and Texas State. The Eagles begin a four-game home stretch at Eagle Field, starting when they face off against UL Lafayette Friday at 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Georgia Southern Eagles opened up Sun Belt play on the road last weekend, playing games against UL Monroe and South Alabama. The Eagles dropped a heartbreaker in the final minute to UL Monroe on Thursday evening. Junior
Sarah Price recorded her third goal of the season in the first half, but two goals by Warhawks senior Emely Portillo-Segovia was enough to lift ULM to a 2-1 win. On Sunday, the Eagles traveled to Mobile, Ala. to face off against a powerful South Alabama team, who defeated GS 5-0.
SCOUTING UL LAFAYETTE
The Ragin' Cajuns have an overall record of 4-5-1, and began their Sun Belt play last weekend by tying Georgia State, 1-1, and dropping a game to Little Rock, 0-1. Senior forward Mackenzie Higgins leads the team offensively with eight goals and 17 total points, and goalkeepers Cosette Morche and Mackenzie Lee split time between the pipes for ULL, tallying 46 total saves combined.
SCOUTING TEXAS STATE
Texas State has a current record of 5-4-1, and will take on Appalachian State on Friday night. The Bobcats are coming off of two wins last weekend over Sun Belt foes Little Rock and Georgia State. Senior forward Clarissa Leon leads the Bobcats with three goals on the season, and junior forward Kassi Hormuth leads the team in shots (35) and tied for second in goals with two. Texas State has two goalkeepers, Kathryn Budde and Heather Martin, who have tallied 36 saves on the year.
SERIES HISTORY
Georgia Southern and UL Lafayette will meet for the third time in a series tied 1-1. The Eagles and Ragin' Cajuns faced off in 2014, GS winning 2-1. Last season, the two teams faced off and ULL shut out the Eagles, 1-0.
Georgia Southern and Texas State will also face for the third time in history, in a series that the Eagles trails 0-1-1. In 2014, the two teams tied 1-1 in a double-overtime match and last season Texas State defeated GS, 3-1.

The Eagles will continue their play at home next weekend when they take on Coastal Carolina (9/30) and Troy (10/2).
