STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern women's soccer team travels to Rock Hill, SC for a single game against Winthrop on Saturday at 3 p.m. The game which was originally scheduled for Friday night has been moved to Saturday afternoon because of incoming weather.

The Georgia Southern Eagles are coming off of a strong weekend, where they tied North Florida 1-1 on Friday and defeated Charlotte 4-3 on Sunday. Three eagles scored their first goals of the season on Sunday against Charlotte. Junior forward

Junique Rodriguez scored the game-winning goal in overtime.
SCOUTING WINTHROP
Winthrop was picked to finish in a tie for eighth place in the 2016 Big South Conference preseason poll. Freshman forward Keeley Leising has three goals so far this season, averaging .75 goals per game and leading the team. The Eagles currently have a record of 2-2, they have dropped games to both Western Carolina and Coastal Carolina but defeated USC Upstate and South Carolina State.
SERIES HISTORY
Georgia Southern and Winthrop will meet for the sixth time in a series where GS trails 3-2. The two teams faced off last season, where GS won 2-0 at home.

The Eagles return home next weekend to wrap up their preseason slate against Kennesaw State (9/9) and South Florida (9/11). Sun Belt play will begin on Sept. 15
