Top Players Returning
After finishing the 2015 season ranked No. 10 in the nation, plus an Allstate Sugar Bowl win, the Ole Miss Rebels are looking for SEC championship glory in 2016. Returning to lead the offense is senior quarterback Chad Kelly (13 GP, 4042 yds, 31 TDs-13 INTs, 65.1 pct). Kelly also finished the season second on the team in rushing (107-500 yds, 4.7 avg, 10 TDs) and led the team in rushing touchdowns. Kelly will be assisted with the return of two of his top targets from last year. Senior receiver Quincy Adeboyejo (13 GP, 38-604 yds, 15.9 avg, 7 TDs) leads returning targets, finishing second on the team last season behind Laquon Treadwell. Senior tight end Evan Engram (13 GP, 38-464 yds, 12.2 avg, 2 TDs) finished third in receptions last season. After heavy losses from last season, the Rebels will look to senior defensive back Tony Bridges (13 GP, 36 total tackles, 3 INTs). Bridges had the most interceptions out of returning players last season, including one for a touchdown. Helping Bridges lead the defensive unit is junior linebacker DeMarquis Gates (13 GP, 76 total tackles, 2 FF). Gates led the team in tackles last season.
