STATESBORO, Ga.- During the last home match of the season, the Georgia Southern women's tennis team blanked Savannah State 7-0 on Senior Day to win their second match of the weekend. On Saturday, the Eagles won their first conference match against UL Monroe 4-2.

Due to injuries, Savannah State only played with four players, forfeiting the doubles and two singles points. However, the Blue and White easily won the remaining four points, each of the wins coming in straight sets.

Mary Phillips Smith was the first off the court after a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win at the No.3 position. At line two, fellow senior
Francisca Norregaard won her match 6-2, 6-2. Junior
Giulia Riepe won her 12
th match at the No.1 position in a 6-3, 6-1 result. Making her spring debut at line four, freshman
Paige Christian also won in a convincing 6-1, 6-1 fashion.

With an 11-7 record, the Eagles face two more conference opponents this upcoming weekend before heading into the Sun Belt Tournament. The team duals Troy on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Appalachian State on Sunday at 10 a.m.
