STATESBORO, Ga.- Coming off of a 3-0 weekend, the Georgia Southern men's tennis team looks to continue their perfect home record against two tough opponents. The Eagles, who had their home opener last Friday, take on Troy at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Florida Gulf Coast at noon on Sunday.

"The guys have shown that our identity is to compete. We fight with whatever we have, whether that's our A game, B game, C game, we get out on the court and we'll compete," head coach Sander Koning said. "That's what I kept seeing throughout the season and that's what I expect again this weekend."

The match against the Trojans marks the team's first conference match this season. Troy, on the other hand, opened up conference play on Feb. 25 against UL Lafayette, which was just one of their three wins this season. However, the Trojan's 3-9 record doesn't tell the whole story, as six of their opponents have been nationally ranked, including No.2 Oklahoma.

"I know last year we lost 4-3 to Troy, and it came down to the last match. The guys are ready for some payback at home," Koning said.

Also 8-3 like Georgia Southern, Florida Gulf Coast is sporting a three-match streak, with one victory coming from this past weekend. Another similarity besides having the same mascot? Both the Eagles have beaten FAU— Georgia Southern 4-2 and FGC 4-3.

In order to maintain their lossless home record, the Blue and White has to continue their strong singles play. Last weekend, the Eagles lost just one singles point out of the three matches they played.

"Of course, having the success helps. Winning gives you confidence so we'll be going confident going into these two matches, and I know that the guys are ready to make it happen."
