Georgia Southern (+67), which played Oak Point today, finished 10 strokes out of the top-20. Coastal Carolina (+7) won the tournament, followed by Chattanooga (+15).

Tabbed as the largest collegiate golf tournament in the country, the 2016 edition of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic featured 41 teams and was played on two courses for the three-day, 54-hole tournament – Osprey Point and Oak Point.

The story
Bowman scored par or better on her first seven holes and rolled in three birdies on the day. She was even at the turn and finished her round par, birdie, par. Shin rolled in three birdies in her round, including on holes 7 and 13 as she was 1-over through her first 12 holes. Hvass played her first four holes at 1-under and parred her final three. Thompson was 1-under through her first three holes and parred four in a row on her back nine. Macioce was even through her first eight holes.

Quotable from head coach Emily Kuhfeld
"After three events in a row, it will be good to have some time to work on a few things to prepare for the rest of our spring season. As they say, you can learn more from when things don't go well than you can when things do go well, and I feel that we can and will learn a lot about ourselves from this event. The team is headed in the right direction, and we will continue to improve. I am proud of how Ansley was able to score today without her 'A' ball-striking game and proud of the effort the team gave out there this week."
