STATESBORO, Ga. – Coming off of a 5-2 win over Presbyterian, the Georgia Southern women's tennis team heads over to Alabama this weekend to face Alabama State, Jacksonville State and Kennesaw State in Montgomery. Friday's match against the Hornets starts at 2:30 p.m. while Saturday's match versus the Gamecocks begins at 1:30 p.m. On Sunday, the first serve is set for 10 a.m. against the Owls.
The Eagles, who hold a 2-1 record so far, are the only team out of the four to beat Presbyterian this season. Alabama State (2-2) lost to them 1-6 on Jan. 31 and Jacksonville State (1-4) was swept by the Bluehose 0-7 one day before, while Kennesaw State (0-4) has yet to face Presbyterian.
The Blue and White have been dynamic in singles this season, picking up all 13 points from individual matches.
Emilia Bujan (No.4/5) and
Mary Phillips Smith (No.6) have both gone undefeated in singles, with Bujan also winning two out of three of her doubles matches.
