Georgia Southern plays its first road Sun Belt matches of the season when the Eagles travel to Texas to meet UT Arlington (Thurs.) and Texas State (Sat.) this week. The Eagles are searching for their first league win of the season.

Alex Beecher was named Sun Belt Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week after the junior libero recorded 27 digs against Florida Gulf Coast and 31 vs. South Alabama. She is ranked seventh in the nation in digs per set with a 5.59 average. Beecher has 20-plus digs in a match 30 times and 30-plus digs four times during her career. She is 253 digs away from the Georgia Southern career record and has registered 20-plus digs in four straight matches.

Katie Bange recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 10 kills and 26 assists against South Alabama. Five of the six have included double-figure kills. The junior setter/right side added eight digs and four blocks against the Jaguars.

Megan Chevalier posted 13 kills against Florida Gulf Coast for her seventh double-figure kill outing this season.

Setter Kat Minnerly ranks fifth on the school's career assist list with 2,769. The senior played in her 100th career match against Chicago State.

Junior Crysten Curry ranks sixth in career blocks at Georgia Southern with 279. She recorded a season-high nine kills in each of the two matches last weekend.

Three juniors who received medical redshirts last season - Beecher, Curry and Bange - have returned to the lineup this season and played in every match.
