Relief Ace Richman Drafted by Texas Rangers

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern baseball relief ace Jason Richman was drafted in the 18th round by the Texas Rangers.
Richman, a junior lefthander from Alpharetta, Ga., was taken with the third pick of the 18th round and the 528th overall pick on the third day of the MLB Amateur Draft.
Richman is the 92nd Eagle to be taken in the draft and just the third taken by the Texas Rangers.
The junior lefthander posted a 16-7 record with a 3.42 ERA over his three-year career with Georgia Southern.
As a sophomore Richman was instrumental to the Eagles winning the 2014 Southern Conference Tournament Title. He was named the SoCon Tournament's Most Outstanding Player after appearing in all six games of the tournament and limiting opponents to one run over 13.1 combined innings.
In 2015 he tallied a career high and led the team with seven wins and posted a 3.48 ERA over 67.1 innings pitched.
