STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern volleyball team will host Georgia April 16 in Hanner Fieldhouse as part of its four-match spring schedule, announced today by coach Dustin Wood.
"We are excited to host Georgia in our final spring match, and it will be a good test to wrap up our spring season," said Wood. "They are very well coached and a great program to compete against. We will be seeing them again in Athens in the fall."
The Eagles open the slate by traveling to Armstrong Atlantic March 26 and visit Georgia Tech April 4. Home matches against College of Coastal Georgia April 11 (RAC) and Georgia April 16 (Hanner) cap the schedule.
"We are having a tremendous spring with significant improvements from everyone," said Wood. "I am very pleased on where we are at as a program right now. We have great upperclassman leadership which helps in everything we do. Kat (Minnerly), Crysten (Curry), Katie (Bange), Alex (Beecher) and Bernetta (Moore) have led the way for our younger kids' development. The next few weeks will tell us where we are as a program and what steps we need to take in our offseason training before we report to camp in August."
Spring Schedule
3/26 – at Armstrong Atlantic - 7 p.m.
4/4 – at Georgia Tech - 11 a.m.
4/11 – College of Coastal Georgia (RAC) - 11 a.m.
4/16 – Georgia (Hanner) - 6 p.m.
Georgia Southern returns four starters and 11 letterwinners from the 2014 team. Bange, Beecher and Curry all missed significant time with injuries and redshirted the season.
